One of the main problems for many of our clients and the reason they turn to vehicle tracking is the Working Time Directive. This legislation has repercussions for fleet managers and means an employer is responsible for monitoring staff in order to ensure each individual complies with the law. This means a cap of 48 working hours in a week, at least 11 hours rest in 24 hours, a break if working 6 hours or more and at least one day off a week. Veetrack knows most employers care about the needs of employees and already aim to work within these limits, but it can be very easy to slip outside these guidelines. If a mobile worker decides to go outside these parameters to finish a job it is very tempting and cost effective to call that overtime and simply pay accordingly, but this is against the law unless your employees have signed a voluntary exemptionagreement. But how do you track and monitor the working hours of many mobile employees?
This simple solution to a complex issue takes the strain away from vehicle management and ensures you easily remain within the law as you increase the productivity of your business. If you want to read more about the Working Time
Directive and how vehicle tracking solutions can help we will be happy
